The Center for Global Trade and Investment Studies (CGTI) of FGV's School of Economics was responsible for the 5th Meeting of the BRICS Economic and Trade Research Network (TERN).

Held on March 17, 2014, the main discussion of the event was "the impacts of BRICS mega agreements", covering economies, investments, trade agreements and climate issues, while analyzing the expansion of cooperation among the BRICS.

The event was led by Professor Vera Thorstensen, from FGV's School of Economics, and was attended by guests such as former Minister of Foreign Affairs and diplomat Luiz Felipe de Seixas Corrêa, and Professor Renato Flôres, from FGV IIU.
