FGV, through the IIU, was hired by the Andean Community to conduct research on the Andean Integration System (SAI) and its institutional coordination components, in addition to the management of other IAS institutions. Trips were made to the site, as well as several studies of the institution's operation.

Adjustments and new strategies were proposed, with an emphasis on communication and visibility in member countries, to increase the use of results and benefits of the CAN, as well as better management of the resources of these countries, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
